Some things must come to an end

Questions were asked.
It rocked itself front to back for "Yes", and for "No" it swayed side to side. Almost like an inverted pendulum - steady, consistent, precise. In foreboding-like manner. Lifeless and indifferent. And when it was unsure of the answer, it akwardly revolved its body ... 360°, then returned to a calm position. Awkwardly ... because it didn't really have legs. Yet its steady movement switched to a violent mode when it was certain of answers, making use of its firm structure. Could've been possessed though - as if controlled by darkness down below, rather than by Light from up above. The trust wasn't there, for my part - I took it upon myself to be skeptical. But I wasn't the only one who saw it. Furthermore - one of the violent front-to-back responses came true. It has been with me since. Clear as crystal. I have to tell this story one day. As vividly as I can. It was fascinating, eerie. Reactionary to the point where you squint ... squint hard - an attempt to capture ... and comprehend. |

I have this strange premonition that someday soon, I'll be visited by a ghost. These windows I leave open at night when there is pleasant breeze outside. The leaves & trees out back rustle. And for the most part, I'm not bothered. But there's something out there. And it's waiting for the right moment. To scratch at the screen ever so creepily. Tap. And wait to be noticed. Then stare at me. Maybe it's just me, just my imagination - a culmination of all the horror movies I've seen. I can't pinpoint it. But this feeling, it's strange. I hope no one died around here. I hope it doesn't come for me. It shouldn't, really. No motive, no reason to. But I'd like to embrace it. To try and understand. I want it to be at peace. These windows I leave open. |

Hey Ü
It's sooooo unbelievable to see over 8 million votes so far for some actor who quit high school, and [probably] has not taken a single management or economics course in his life. And the fellow's supposed to run the country. Wow --- 8+ million. Hmn. I have a crazy idea - let's all be candidates. Let's see - I can add, subtract, spell, make u laugh from time to time ... =Þ But. I suppose that I should be talking about my life versus someone else's huh =Þ. Well, the semester's about to end come June 11th, so I'll be catching up then ... Ü. Duh Christopher. I owe something like 12 replies from THAT ______ [insert ad lib] entry of mine, hehe. Sorry guys n gals. HELLOOOOO to you =D. Just a quick check-in on my end. Take good care. Best regards, |

I don't have much to complain about, so please allow me to have cheese with this whine:
What's with the gas prices?? All right, I'm done now - and I have an idea of the answers, so no real need to fill me in =Þ. I hope to update this weekend, perhaps after the BBQ at the buddies' place. Right now, can't really say that I'm thinking clearly. Seems to be carafe caffeine OD. Hmn. My handwriting was clearly jittery the other day - that never happened before, quite odd. I hope it was nothing. At least midterms were thankfully just fine Ü Oh, I almost forgot - HI!! |

It's a wonderful Saturday afternoon.
6 PM. Midterms are coming up, so I have to move fast soon. But the sun's bright, the weather's splendid. Perfect for a break, really. I put on Liz Phair surround sound, cracked the windows open. Can you imagine? After all ... it's May Ü The Grind The daily grind has consisted of work and school lately. There has been a lot of interaction regarding the latter, though. Our group of four [2 guys, 2 gals] has decided on setting up a night club for the team marketing project, part of which includes designing a trendy, hip website. And guess who got that part? Hehehe. Indeed. Recall that I have lotsa' fun tinkering around, as most can prolly tell =Þ. Work hasn't been shabby either ...
Drawing courtesy of an OEM out in Cali. Post filling area. Some bottles are diverted to 6 pack configurations, others to 12. Could be Dasani®, could be generic. I never really know anymore - it's routine, really - just review the operating parameters, spec/quote the appropriate components (from our line), and file away. Crossing fingers that everything's done/fabricated right and that no operational problems occur - those can be the headaches, trust me. At any rate, one'a the objectives include creating synergy with the OEM ... 2+2=5. Which can be fun. Although one'a the downsides includes looonngg phone calls regarding detail design. Regarding graphics - I really love CAD, by the way. Too bad most engineers just review the drawings that draftspeople generate, vs actually making them from scratch. As a result, I've forgotten plenty'a commands. Hmn, how about the hardware though. Ohhhhhhhh. If you had me spec out a sexy yet affordable workstation for CAD, God, that'd be fun - a duel between the 64-32 Xeon Nocona and the Opteron. Each outfitted with at least 1 MB of cache memory and AGP 8X Quadro/Fire graphics cards. Yum. OK, I'm rambling =Þ The Lack of LJ udpates Let's see - during a few mornings, I did a bit of jogging before work this past week. Which entailed heading to bed early [~midnight] each night, and neglecting LJ! Not such a great feeling to be responding to comments ~ 2 weeks later, but trust me, I always appreciate 'em (thanks again!). Greetings to each and every one of yas. I hope everything's just fine. Parents are also in town, so I'm keeping them good company. My sister suggested visiting Cornell U's campus last week up in Ithaca, NY ... so we did just that. For kicks, really - just some place to see. No plans of anyone (as far as I know) planning to attend there - it's soooooo remote and expensive. But hey, it has a great ranking though, and has a welcoming campus as well, so what the hell. We had lunch at some vegetarian restaurant down there. Quite a treat Ü Speaking of Treats Our third month is coming up!! Boy, that was fast. One'a the most wonderful things is that ... it feels just like it did the first day. Sparks! Ü |

3 yrs ago - working before college wrap-up I was wondering what the hell I was up to 3 years ago, and sure enough, the archive paid off. Feel free to take a glimpse of 2001 entries from the 16th, 17th, and 18th. Thanks to the threads, each one's relatively funny, and sheds a bit'a light on me back then. It was around the time before PeopleSupport [expedia.com team] was transitioned to Manila, where it started off in St. Louis. Actually, come to think ... operating costs were steep in Los Angeles, so they moved to St. Louis. Then to Manila. And with that, people I knew at the time... Chris McGowan (a friend, then 19 years old) was this Linux expert and philosophical chap. A genius, really, who knew open source in and out, always rambling on about Mandrake, SuSE, and kernel 2.4 stability. His idea of fun would be coding or reading /. on a Friday night for leisure. Of course, with a sixpack of Heineken on standby, he said, hehe. Great guy, no pretense, spoke highly of his gf. We talked about web dev a lot. Touch based recently - still in Saint Louis, but taking a break from undergrad. Oh well, I'm sure he'll get back into the game sometime. Genii like him will make it far, no doubt. Don't really know about Kris and Wesley, completely lost touch w/ these guys. We'd go out for drinks at least twice a week, but then came commencement and the move-away - and well, w/o much common ground afterwards, hmn ... people move on Ü Nunchakus. A helluva weapon I suddenly recalled being stopped by a cop when I was 10. Was walking down to the corner store to buy chips, wielding Joey's plastic pair from halloween. Hehe, the cop thought the 'chucks were real, and ended up laughing since he was caught off guard. And hell, my brother-in-law did teach me around that age with real ones, so I wasn't clueless on how to swing 'em. Always pretending to be Bruce Lee. This I'm aware of, since I still I let out loud freakish a la Bruce Lee shrieks occasionally, hehe. Well. I love hardwood speedchucks w/ the chain mounted to a ball-bearing housing. It's spring now (!), so gotta practice outside again sometime. |

PS - thanks for the feedback on the bear survey ;). He's been christened CJ Wesley, with help from the results. |

The lyrics, blended with an almost ethereal bridge, were quite distinct. It was just another song, 'til I finally paid attention. I listened closely, and was able to relate in my own
way. This I remember ... months ago. And now, well - instead
of hoping, I just smile each time I hear it. Brilliant composition on the artist's part. I cross over each hand to the opposing shoulder, snap the fingers, and just sway. Ever so
naturally. 'Cause it's there. A culmination of the past decade ... back then, now, and everything in between. Cheers Ü

While relaxed in bed a few minutes, just contemplating past moments, I looked for a word that more or less ... captured it. When everyone else had gone home, or had already fallen into deep sleep.
Rather dim streetlights. Two people, awake at an ungodly hour ... studying God-given facial characteristics. Features. There, underneath the gentle play of light that pierced through tinted windows. Shade, depth ... texture. Approach. Then, overpowering senses - certainly distinct. Hmn. Simply...
Perfect. 2b ... extremely pleasing to the senses. Indeed. Per dictionary.com Ü |

LJ, Dear. What's up Jerks??! This is more of an informal hello, just to inform everyone that things are a-ok on my end, and that you guys are missed ... an email of sorts =Þ, to all 89 (how'd that happen??) on this list, along with the random surfers too. All right, enough cheese. I know - plenty to remember from the Philippines that I have to write about. Trust me, my entries will take up your entire friends screen one'a these days. The vacation was a mere blur, really. But hey, lemme take a break - I'm sure some are gagging from the love stories by now =Þ. 'Sides, there will be plenty, plenty of recollections to note over the next few months - no intentions to skip the highlights in this life. Feel free to agree - of courseness Ü The grind. Off to Canada on Sunday. Been relatively busy - hardly a dose of energy to blog on weekdays. Choosing instead to workout or read, read something offline - such as EIT review ... with the exam in October. So far I've taken a brief (really brief) look at both Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics I. At any rate, I'm glad I haven't seen a worm or two (the integral sign) yet, hehe. Er, October? Sounds a bit distant, but trust me, with work plus taking up pre-MBA courses, I can't say I'll have that much free time 'til then. Well. Last Sunday was spent at Ally's (Blanca's 29th), plus asian grocery shopping. Bought all sorts of goodies - wonton wrappers, banana leaves, fish sauce ... seaweed (for sushi!). Hehe. Will be messing around occasionally. Over at Ally's, had a good time talking to Mylene, Chinky (both ~30). We'll be checking out a few restaurants (King of Prussia) over the upcoming months, and even hop on over to NY for a play. After all, spring is almost here. Thinking aside for a second - I do love how seasons change. In winter you appreciate a warm home, the comfort of your own blanket and comforters. And a fireplace. Spring arrives, and a certain reviving feeling hits ya mysteriously. Goes with the trees growing leaves again, hehe. What's with the cheese, yo?? So ... time to explore more of the east coast soon. Told them about Later! Take care. |

( Canada's booked and ready to go ) Flying all day for the return on Friday,
rather than catching the red-eye - which would have been
flying from 9 PM to 8:15 AM (Saturday morning return), shikes.
I have to get projects, bids, and quality control issues off of my desk before I leave, I'd hate to leave in them in Tyson's hands and overload him. One of our modular belts seem to have acetal (think LEGO-type plastic) accidentally mixed with polyethylene (PE), so one client up in the Seattle area is not too pleased - they're not getting the typical chemical resistance they need. After all, the process automation involves chlorine washdown during 1st/2nd shift downtime. A bit corrosive, 50 ppm at 40 psi. Application - transport of raspberries from dewatering area to IQF freezing. pH values of the cleanser seem to be out of the allowable range for acetal, therefore attacking the thermoplastic ... leading to premature wear and delamination/disintegration on the surface. Samples in-house already, they look pretty bad. On our end, I'm not sure how well the injection mold was cleaned prior to starting up the PE batch, shoot. Slight investigation necessary. Well. These things are bound to happen - manufacturing mishaps. Of course, they need a replacement right away too. Sigh. Definitely beneficial that resin suppliers such as Dupont and BASF assist us with these matters. So. For the next two days, it's catch up for me, meaning OT galore (no extra compensation, just extra hours). But. A well deserved vacation to follow =) ... 4 days. Let me say that again, it's sinking in - FOUR DAYS to go. Postscript - I do get to visit random places, and certainly it's fun - but no doubt that I'm missing out on a lot - like not having seen ROTK yet. And well, I'm busy packing =D |

Hi all! I've been excused by the court. Thanks to the following
users for the comments on the court matter -
I've known since this past Tuesday, but I've been just a bit too busy (and tired) to even update LJ. Sigh. Work's OK though. Canada itin's firming up - right now, the only concern is granting me ~2 days' comp time for travel on weekends - my supervisor isn't too happy that I'll have to give up office time just to fly. Tentative itinerary, currently not reserved. Will keep everyone posted Ü 8 days =) Ü =D Well, I made this for lunch today -
Brunch 1/24/2004 - Turkey Club w/ Cheese Fries Simply a BLT for one layer, then turkey for the next (3 bread slices). Mayo and butter for added flavor. Dumped with a chock load of golden brown French fries, topped with a mix of four cheeses and a bit of paprika. I am. Full. For crispy fries, my sister recommended soaking the cut potato in water for a few hours - to reduce the starch-iness (?). McDonald's secret, supposedly. Close, but not quite (arghhhh). Good enough though =Þ Don't forget the toothpicks - took me forever to find them at the grocery store - guys will always be guys and not ask around. ( On a totally different [long] note ...mixed feelings last weekend ) |

Hi all! I've been quite OK for the past several days. Very busy (and snowy) weekend - attending the postponed company holiday party, hopping over to my sister's for two of her kids' violin recitals, and then plowing along over to Jersey for Ally's kid-oriented party. Details to follow - I promise this time. No news from the courts yet - today is Martin Luther King Day, which means that government offices and services (mail, etc) are on hold for a day. My mother said not to worry about not being excused, and one of the LJ buddies who's in law school, ( So. In the meantime - take time out to chuckle hard, it's good for ya. 18 hilarious photos ) </center> |
