There's this old, yellowed picture of us, statue-dancing partners at age 5. My mom used to bring me along to his house, a few blocks away, for the usual afternoon chat with his mom. I'd love to say that we got along right from the very beginning --- but the truth is --- he and his older brother tormented me. And called me "witchy-witch." Yup. Highly creative, even back then (right - pretty pathetic, if you ask me). Anyway. A few years passed, their family decided to move to a land far, far away, and I was left to grow up in peace. Or so I thought --- because with us being "family friends", I really should have known better. The next time we saw each other, we were fourteen--- and at the end of the day, I still had practically no idea how he'd turned out (I was, um…shy). Two years later, a nice surprise --- a graduation card in the mail. That was ten years ago. And from then on, things were never the same again. I could, of course, tell you the whole story --- God knows I've told it a thousand times --- but, well, if you do get to meet him, it'll make for a nice conversation over a cup of coffee. That's the way he is, you see. Easy company. I've never met anyone who was so interested in people, just because. And. He's not so much a collection of paradoxes, as I’d initially thought he was, as he is a master of balance, or that elusive right mix: highly intelligent and undeniably attractive, but refreshingly down-to-earth; reflective, and at the same time hilarious (believe me, it's possible); big-hearted, but definitely no doormat; old-fashioned yet open- minded; level-headed but pleasantly unpredictable; an eternal optimist and a true romantic, but a grounded one, too. Pure and simple, heartwarmingly sincere --- childlike, really --- but amazingly has the wisdom and maturity one can only gain from two lifetimes. How he manages to be all that, I don't know. What I do know is, now, twelve years later, I can confidently say that he turned out really, really fine. My boy-next-door who is so much more...Topey. :)

 He's a friend, a guardian angel (avenging angel minsan! hehehehe), a dad, a brother and a beefcake all rolled up into one! This cutie pie is not just all looks though - he has a fast wit and a looooong memory, is not only smart but thoughful too. Not surprisingly, women and hehehe, men, WANT him. (So um, Tops, when do you pay up? Bwahahahaha :D)

Grabe, binata ka na, Topey....I've known Topey since he was a kid, parang kailan lang...last saw him in 97 when he came over for a visit...sweet kid with a big heart (and that heart belongs to someone na...hehehe...)Hope to see him next year. Take care, kid and have a good life.

 CCHHHRRRRIIIISSSSSSSS!!! I get to be the first.... get to be the first!!! So you're here na rin huh? This guy... is.... *TADA* IS IT! Fun. Funny. A cook (have yet to try them food!). Very smart. Sooo focused. Mature. Geeky (hep hep, walang aangal). Hardworking. And did i say funny? 'Met him through ahurm... chat... then eventually met up... one will realize he's not that all complicated. He is and all that. No pretentions. He looks very quiet (at first) but wait until you get to sit and have dinner with this guy, one to one. He can talk about practically everything in this world. And when he's in love, sheesh, you can see it in his eyes. I'm lucky to have him as a friend bec. he says things as they are... and people do need that (like me! *raises hands*). No BS or anything. Just as it is. Only thing is, he can laugh at the corniest of all jokes, hmm....
